On another note, i got to go to the launch of Red Alert 3!! bwhahahaha
I went with Bryan, my bro, and Izwan. And izwan displayed his amazing prowess in preplanning for events like this. He got us to come 3 hours before the event started, and did not even know where the event was being held (Which ended up with us wandering around, then walking across SS2, the backtracking across again). Then we got a place in a line for pre-orders, THAT WE DID'NT HAVE. He spent the rest of the evening having life threats thrown at him from my brother, as well as a good dose of physical and verbal abuse.

The pre-order line (above-above). Me and izwan having luch while in lineIn Soviet Russia, the cars 0wNz j00Izwan, Bryan and the models at the launch party.

Cure For Boredom

College really putting a strain on me nouw... [ISU,ISU,ISU,ISU,ISU,ISU] so i havent havent had the time to try any new games [heresy!! BiA forgive me].
Somehow i found the time to replay an old game, Baldur's Gate II, when i couldnt stand typing more stuff. Probably because i saw my brother playing it. :-/

2001 sequel to the 1998 game Baldur's Gate.

One of the few dragons that actually try to take a bite out you on sight.

Mages, the powerhouses of the game, in action.

The essence and core of the game lies in its descriptive text and storytelling; in my opinion, its greatest strength. While the game is entirely in 2D, the quality and effort in the game will permanently burn its name into those who play it. The game is strategically challenging as well, and the combat can sometimes really make you twitch. But the interactivity and reeaaaaaly good story in the game will keep you hooked just to see it through. Its also very fulfilling when you reach a point where you're powerful enough to end encounters with large groups of enemies in seconds. <3 And now im hooked to it again.

Anyway heres the film project I worked with Melissa that robbed me of my weekend. Enjoy!

Went to college to meet some friends and get some work done, then drove to Izwan's house for his Raya open house. Considering that I arrived at 5pm; long after the doors opened, the food was all but licked off the platters....

So I comforted myself with a cup of orange syrup.

Me, Izwan, and some other friends; Rong Xuan, Michelle(both ex-Cahayians like Izwan and me) as and Cherlyn. We hung around Izwan's room playin cards and staring at Izwan's computer. (okay, thats just me. 2 LCD 22" moniters! #%$#%^#) rich bastard....

Anyway, after a while Michelle headed home, and the rest of us decided to go to the local mamak joint for a snack. On the way there....

From the far end: Rong Xuan, Me and Izwan.

Yes. We are idiots. I do especially stupid things when I'm around people like Izwan. Btw, no innocents were hurt in the shooting of this photo; us included.

After we reached the mamak store, a guy comes up to us and asks fo RM1. Reluctantly Rong Xuan hands him one. Afew minutes later, another guy walks up and starts harrassing the first guy (not beating him up FYI, just scolding him and chasing him around the store.) Turns out the guy who asked for money banks in about RM300-500 a day by begging. The 2nd man explained to us his obvious contempt, and continues to follow the beggar around before going back to his friends. Weird

Anyway, Rong Xuan went about telling us some story about a mamak guy getting some shit stuck on his ring after doing his 'big business' then making roti canai. Very unappetizing. Then Izwan has a weird question....

Izwan: Malays get green packets right? duit raya?
Others: Yea...
Izwan: Chinese get red packets right?
Others: Yea....
Izwan: The indians get what?
Others: Uh... ummm.. dunno
Izwan: Never seen before ah...
Rong Xuan: Don't know la
*Izwan puts up hand and calls mamak guy over*
Izwan: eh boss, malay get green packet right?
Mamak guy: yeah
Izwan: Chinese get red packet right?
Mamak guy: yeah...
Izwan: Then what do you get?
Mamak guy: Me?
Izwan: No, indians..
Mamak guy: Oh, ummm....
Izwan: Deepavali?
Mamak guy: Dunno la...Got alot of colors la!
Izwan: Okay.... Thanks !
.............
Me: Why the hell did you do that?
Izwan: For fun.
Me: o.O"

3 Panel Soul

Three Panel Soul

Best interpretation of the US economic crisis in my book. Anyone who is familiar with web comics should at least have heard the of the artist Ian McConville, writer Matt Boyd, or their old comic McHall. Awesome art; awesome humour, Take a look.

Oh and i went with a friend to a hobby shop, only to find this sitting in a little corner.

A complete bastardization of Gundam. For only 20 bucks!

On a side note: 4 days of holiday, and NO work done...
I truly am a pig.

Because natural deaths aren't accurate

Saw an awesome Japanese movie last week, Accuracy of death [a.k.a Sweet Rain].the movie was surprisingly good, complete with Jap star/ heartthrob/ guy, pretty lady, and talkin dog. The star (Takeshi Kaneshiro) had hair that changed like no tomorrow; one new style for every story arc.

Said Jap hearthrob and talking dog

You will never guess who the old lady on the left is!

The pretty lady of the show. Sang the gret themesong

Generally the story centres around a girl whose life is clouded by the deaths of those who love her; but the 2nd story arc really throws you off this trail, making you think the stories have nothing to do with each other for a good amount of time. [salute to the author of the original novel] Really loved the total cluelessness of Chiba the grim reaper, and the comedy yakuza story arc. [old man rambo FTW]

A trend i noticed in the Japanese movies i watch is the thoughtful hidden questions and ideas. The one in Accuracy of death is the recurring question; What do you think of death?. Another good Jap film with this characteristic is the anime-movie 'The girl who leapt through time'. Lousy name, i know, but the story is niiiice. Worth watching.

You'll see a lot of those clouds in the movie

Debut

And so i begin a blog. Never really thought I would end up doing something like this due to my lack of affinity for networking online, but bleh... Anyway, let this be my first post! I wont be writing much, since I'm supposed to be finishing up some college work. [yes, that's procrastination for you] I hope to update this blog at least once a week or so, and you'll probably read rants about games, books, music, and/or other stuff in those areas.
[so if you have any grievences with said topics, blacklist this blog immediately]

So.... This be my first step into blogging! My next post will probably be me bitching about new games and not being able to play them on a good rig.

Cheers
